Born and raised in East Austin, Texas August 24. He started off at a young age dancing in a hip hop group called the Valley Boys. in 1989 Christopher -Shawn was discovered By Director Anson Williams (Potsy from The Hit show "Happy Days") while watching the movie "A Dream Date" being filmed in Austin. He was then cast as a featured extra in the movie. In 1990 Christopher-Shawn married the beautiful Stephanie Johnson and there after Christopher moved to New York City.  While there in New York City Christopher had his very first major audition for NBC's "The Cosby Show" where he was introduced to one of the shows stars Malcolm-Jamal Warner.  Malcolm-Jamal Warner then took Christopher under his wing and taught him the Entertainment business of Hollywood. 
 
 Christopher-Shawn educated himself and perfected his craft at the Dougherty School of the Arts in Austin, Texas majoring in Theater Arts. he also attended Austin Community College majoring in Television Production. While in New York he studied acting with Kathy Kennedy Acting School of the Arts. and 10 weeks on Broadway. He enrolled at Long Beach Community College, Long Beach, California. majoring in Television. He also received a certificate of completion from Columbia School of Broadcasting in Television and Radio Broadcasting at NBC studios Universal City, California.


He moved his family to Los Angeles, California in 1995, and joined the Coleman and Smith Artistic Company in 1997 where he was cast in his first ever stage play called " Pill Hill" and the ball began to roll. He was then cast in several more plays. Then Christopher-Shawn got the directing bug and was offered by the Executive Director Rosemarie Smith-Coleman and Artistic Director Lamont A. Coleman to write and direct his own production. Christopher-Shawn took the offer and that's were A Smithside Entertainment was created. So he collaborated with his wife Stephanie Smith and another writer to create the Award winning play "Devil's Journey" the show ran for six weeks in Hollywood and sold out every show. "Devil's Journey" was nominated for 6 COLSAC Theater Awards and won 5. in 2003 Coleman and Smith Artistic Company joined forces with A Smithside Entertainment t take the play Pill Hill on a minor play tour. where they caught the eyes of the NAACP Theater Awards committee and gained a nomination for a NAACP Theater Award.
